Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Security Bot (“Security Bot”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our Discord bot and its features.

By adding or using Security Bot, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

01

About Security Bot

Security Bot is a Discord security and moderation bot created by Wael N. Nagi.

Security Bot may process certain information from Discord servers and users in order to provide security, moderation, logging, configuration, and related features.

We aim to collect only information that is reasonably necessary for the Bot to function.

02

Information We May Collect

Depending on which features are enabled, Security Bot may process the following information.

Discord Account Information: Discord User ID, Discord username, display name, server membership information, user roles, and user permissions. This information may be necessary for identifying users and performing moderation or security actions.

03

Server Information

Security Bot may process information about Discord servers where it has been installed.

This may include: server ID, server name, channel IDs, role IDs, server configuration, enabled security features, bot settings, security settings, whitelist and blacklist information.

This information may be stored so Security Bot can remember your server’s configuration.

04

Security and Moderation Logs

If logging or security features are enabled, Security Bot may record information about security and moderation events.

Examples may include: security alerts, moderation actions, user IDs involved in actions, channel IDs, event timestamps, detected suspicious activity, automated actions, and configuration changes.

These logs may be used to help server administrators investigate security incidents and understand what happened within their server.

05

Message Information

Some security or moderation features may require Security Bot to process information related to Discord messages.

Depending on the feature, this may include: message IDs, channel IDs, user IDs, message timestamps, and content required for a specific moderation or security feature.

Security Bot should only process message content when it is necessary for a feature that requires it. If a feature does not require message content, Security Bot should not intentionally store unnecessary message content.

06

Why We Collect Information

Information may be processed for purposes including:

Security — to detect and respond to suspicious activity, raids, spam, abuse, or other security events.

Moderation — to allow configured moderation features to function.

Logging — to provide server administrators with useful security and moderation records.

Configuration — to remember server settings and preferences.

Abuse Prevention — to detect attempts to abuse or interfere with Security Bot.

Troubleshooting — to investigate bugs, errors, outages, or technical problems.

Service Improvement — to understand problems and improve reliability, performance, and security.

07

Data Minimization

We aim to avoid collecting information that is not reasonably necessary for operating Security Bot.

Different servers may have different features enabled, meaning the type and amount of information processed may vary between servers.

08

Data Storage

Information processed by Security Bot may be stored using infrastructure required to operate the Service.

Stored information may include configuration data, security logs, moderation records, and other information required by enabled features.

We take reasonable measures to protect stored information from unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

09

Data Retention

We may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant features, maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, or comply with legal obligations.

Different types of information may be retained for different periods.

Server administrators may be able to delete certain logs or configuration information through available Bot features.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, it may be deleted or anonymized where appropriate.

10

Data Deletion

If you want information associated with a server or account to be deleted, you may request deletion through the official communication method provided for Security Bot.

Deletion requests may require reasonable verification to prevent unauthorized requests.

Certain information may need to be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or other legitimate purposes.

11

Server Owner Responsibilities

Server owners and administrators are responsible for deciding which Security Bot features are enabled in their servers.

If your server uses logging, moderation, or monitoring features, you should make your members aware of those practices when appropriate.

You are also responsible for ensuring that your use of Security Bot complies with applicable laws and regulations.

12

Discord

Security Bot operates on the Discord platform.

Discord may independently collect and process information when you use Discord.

Security Bot does not control Discord’s data practices. Your use of Discord is also subject to Discord’s own policies and terms.

13

Third-Party Services

Security Bot may use third-party infrastructure or services to operate certain features.

These services may process information necessary for providing the Service.

We aim to use reputable services and take reasonable steps to protect information processed through them.

Third-party services may have their own privacy policies and terms.

14

Sharing Information

We do not intend to sell personal information.

Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to: operate Security Bot, provide requested features, protect Security Bot, prevent abuse, investigate security incidents, comply with legal obligations, protect users or other parties from serious harm, and work with infrastructure providers necessary to operate the Service.

We do not provide information to others simply because they request it.

15

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by Security Bot.

These measures may include: access controls, permission restrictions, security monitoring, authentication controls, infrastructure security, and limited access to stored information.

Despite these measures, no system connected to the internet is completely secure.

16

Children’s Privacy

Security Bot is intended to be used in accordance with Discord’s applicable age requirements and policies.

We do not knowingly request unnecessary personal information from children.

If you believe that information has been provided to Security Bot inappropriately, please contact us through the official communication method for the Bot.

17

Your Choices

Depending on the features available, you may have choices regarding information processed by Security Bot.

These may include: removing Security Bot from a server, disabling certain logging features, changing security settings, deleting available logs, and requesting deletion of eligible information.

Some information may continue to be retained when reasonably necessary for security or legal purposes.

18

Removing Security Bot

Removing Security Bot from a Discord server may stop the Bot from processing new information from that server.

However, removing the Bot does not necessarily mean that previously stored information is immediately deleted.

Previously stored information may remain for the applicable retention period unless it is deleted earlier.

19

Security Logs

Security logs are intended to help server administrators investigate security events.

Because security logs may be important for protecting a server, certain logs may be retained for a reasonable period.

Logs may include information such as user IDs, server events, timestamps, moderation actions, and security detections.

20

Automated Systems

Security Bot may use automated systems to identify suspicious activity and perform configured security or moderation actions.

Automated detection can sometimes make mistakes.

Security Bot does not guarantee that automated detections will always be accurate.

Server administrators should review important automated actions when appropriate.

21

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when necessary.

Changes may occur because of: new Bot features, changes to data practices, security improvements, legal requirements, and changes to third-party services.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy will be changed when significant updates are made.

Continued use of Security Bot after an update means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.

22

Data Security Disclaimer

While we take reasonable steps to protect information, we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed due to circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If a security incident occurs, we may take reasonable steps to investigate, contain, and address it.
